In the summer 1971, Franz Witte (yes, the man himself) started a Boise landscaping company. No nursery, no maintenance department, just a young man and his aspirations to build and install awesome landscapes. What started as a summer job turned into one of Idaho’s most successful landscape, maintenance, and garden center companies.

I have to say, good customer service in retail is hard to come by these days however, It was my first time to Franz Witte and Desirae really made my experience so great! She was very attentive, took the time to tell me about the company and what it offers, she was so kind and you can just tell she really loves her job and customers! Y’all have a forever customer in me because of her and because of the way she treated me and was so patient in educating me on we the wild products which in fact absolutely love! It’s one thing to have a fantastic store but it’s another to have that AND an incredible employee like her! She definitely deserves all the kudos!
Is there really anything better than a greenhouse? No, I didn't think so. Friends and I have visited many events at FW, this was our first class. It was short and sweet and kinda hard to hear the ladies teaching it. There is so much variety, you have to look for the deals!
Purchased 4 evergreens In spring, planted all next to each other same soil same water schedule same care..one died went into franz 6 weeks later they told me they would take care of me to fill out online form...didn't get a response back for 3 weeks when I was told that particular tree was ph pickey??? They refused to replace. The root also fell apart upon planting bc the bucket was filled with water the soil just fell apart.. went to DUright nursery got same tree planted same way and it's beautiful 5 months later. Franz does not stand behind their product nor their customers...landscaping is expensive don't waste yr money or yr time here
These guys are clowns at my location. I've watched them run into fences, gates, light poles and yard lamps. I've watched them drive their equipment into lakes and waterways. They leave trash in the bushes when they take breaks. Leave a mess of things when they're "done". I especially love it when the 300 pound guy wearing headphones leaves the riding mower idling outside my window while he walks around looking for whatever it is he's trying to find for 20 minutes. I've gotten the schedule down so I can prepare for the invasion of ridiculousness. Still, you're entering another persons property. Have some respect.Obviously, if you live in a complex or specific community you don't have a choice. If you have a private residence, use an operator owned personal business. Franz No-Witte will just wreck your property.
After reviewing different landscape designers and talking to people, we decided to use Franz Witte to relandscape our yard. HOA’s including ours liked working with them, especially the architectural committees. Upon our decision Franz Witte assigned Jake Koppes as our designer. We worked with him in the fall to come up with a design within our budget that would be implemented in June. Our aspirations were high because we wanted a low maintenance but nice looking yard. Jake came up with a design that was cost effective, used some existing plants and trees and met our requirements. He was on top of coordinating the crew and got it done in a timely matter. What really impressed us was that after the job was completed, he had no issue with coming back to help us with any issues or questions we had. We highly recommend him and are happy to be a reference for them and especially him.
Some of our family visited your Nursery a few days ago to look for just the “right” landscaping shrub's that would thrive in our area in Central Oregon. What we didn’t expect and were pleasantly impressed with was the care every employee, including the President of the business, took to greet and assist us. We will DEFINITELY pass on our thoughts to others and send our support your way again.

Just purchased a small indoor plant. One of the ladies helped me and was very nice, however, as she was assisting me, a skinny guy with a moustache comes over and interrupts us by telling her that another customer was requiring her assistance. This enraged me as if I was insignificant and it was ok to interrupt my experience and time! NO! It was NOT ok! I spent about $300 at that location last year for daylillies...I had once again had a bad experience and complained to the manager at that time. Today was the last purchase I will make there! I would not recommend this nursery to anyone! And, they need to be careful who they are treating poorly especially long time customers and residents such as myself!
They sell you a tree for $425. They offer "Delivery and Planting" for 70% of the trees value or $297, and provide a 1 year "Guarantee" on the tree. You agree to the total of $722 and pay the bill happily. They provide you care instructions for the tree and you follow them to the letter, you make sure the tree is properly watered and cared for, etc. The tree dies, they blame YOU the customer for the issue and will not honor the guarantee. You are out $722 and they tell you too bad, it is not our fault your tree died, it is your fault.If you purchase anything here, and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM, do yourself a favor and DO NOT have them deliver and plant the items, they wont stand behind it and they will blame you for everything.
Franz Witte services my subdivision (Oaks South Meridian), I always appreciate that anyone who is working shuts off their mower/tools when anyone walks by, but today in particular my daughter and I were riding our bikes down the sidewalk, and the gentleman mowing the grass turned off his mower and waved us by; my daughter nearly crashed because her foot pedal of her bike fell off. I quickly got off to try to assist her but couldn’t screw it back on, so I proceeded to ask her to get off and we will walk our bikes home. The gentleman on the mower came over to us to ask if he could help, and he screwed her foot pedal back on. I sincerely appreciate this gentleman and his act of kindness so much! Thank you!
I was surprised by the lack of help within this garden center. I have been at many others where the employees check on you, offer their assistance, and share expertise and advise on plant selection. This nursery was lacking in these areas. I purchased some roses and discovered after planting that they came from the nursery with Black Spot fungus.
Wonderful experience working with Emily on our landscape design and selection of trees and bushes. Dillion and team did a excellent job on the install. I really appreciated that Emily also came out to help with the placement of the product and helped with install. I'd highly recommend Franz Witte for your gardening needs.
Great greenhouse. Used to be in Boise, but is a fantastic addition to Nampa. It’s huge and lots of options.
They seemed to have anything you'd want. Whether you're a beginner or a master gardener. The staff was really helpful to this beginner.

I always find something at your beautiful store. I picked up a Pumpkin Dulce Candle and some small Ceramic Mushrooms for my house plants and a Bee bath basket with succulents. I can’t have my pollinators drowning. I was excited to have the praying mantis saying goodbye on my way out:)

We recently purchased a new build home. Need less to say we were given the basics in our front and backyard. Patrick came out and worked up a design to get some life and curb appeal into our home! The crew came out and were very professional and courteous! Seeing my front and back yard come to life has been amazing! From the growth of the trees and plants to the lighting at night... The staff at Franz Witte are so kind and helpful! My wife and I bought a magnolia tree and planned to pick it up the next day. I forgot my receipt when I came to get it and the were more than happy to look up my order to verify it. With my broken thumb I wasn’t able to load the tree in my trailer by myself, so a gentleman helped me get it out to my car and get it all loaded up. Thanks Franz Witte!
Dylan Mick came and installed some beautiful trees at my new home. He was on time, kind, helpful, and extremely professional and thorough. He took the time to understand what I wanted done and made sure that my expectations were met with exactness. I can’t give him and his crew high enough praise. If this was on a scale on 1-10, I would give him a 20. Franz Witte has a superstar employee in Dylan and we truly appreciate the experience he gave us.
Prices a little steep but best selection of yard pottery and decor in the valley.
I went to Far West and picked out a tree. They loaded the tree while I went in to pay. The ladies at the counter were so rude while I tried to use a voucher from Idaho Power that I eventually walked out and had them unload the tree. I then went to Franz Witte and found a much nicer and bigger tree for a lower price! The staff was friendly and excellent with no issues using the Idaho Power voucher.
The Franz Witte commercial team handles the landscaping maintenance for several subdivisions we manage. Our rep, Sydney G, has been awesome to work with. We also love working with Joe G. They are both responsive and their customer service is great! UPDATE: 10/10/22 Today I spoke with Jeffery (sorry if I'm misspelling your name) and she was wonderful. She was able to honor the website flyer and I got my cute yard art. She even helped us pick out another plant for your yard. She went over and beyond and was so very gracious. We love the selection there and will be adding more plants to our yard soon.10/8/22 Today was the first day I was disappointed after visiting Franz Witte. I went with the purpose of buying a piece of yard art I had seen because their flyer and website said all non metal yard art was 40% off. When I was there I was told it didn't include the one I wanted. The flyer and website said nothing about any exclusions so I felt they should have honored the advertisement. I notice now the non metal yard art has been removed from the website and the flyers were thrown away when I was there.
Worth the drive just for the home and garden decor and smelly good soaps, lotions and candles. And I give them 10 stars for preserving that fabulous barn and the 2 silos. ❤️

Staff was really nice and showed me around a bit. They do seasonal plants and they have cold weather plants right now. They do have classes which seems really cool. They didn't have many herbs and that's why I gave 4 stars. I was hoping there would be more options. Pretty gift shop and they had a lot of pots and garden decorations.
Love the tranquil space, fun decor, and friendly staff. I’ve bought many plants and supplies here, and always leave with a dirty chai latte w/ vanilla in my hand from the coffee truck. I have unfortunately had issues with pests in 3 of the plants I bought there, so I have to remember to inspect the plants VERY thoroughly before buying and quarantine an extra long time just to be safe. I wish they would do more to control pests, particularly for their indoor plant selection. But besides that issue, I love this place and will continue going often for everything it has to offer, even if I have to take my magnifying glass with me.
WOW !!! I am Not from here but travel from out of state to visit my Sister in Meridian. She brought me here a couple of months ago and I just had to come back ! This is the most Amazing Nursery I have been to ! I love how they kept the Silos and other buildings when purchasing this ranch. There is such a positive energy that flows around here. The plants are very unique and gorgeous. Same with the displays. I fell in love with the Metal Iron Birds for Sale . The Gift Shop is such a pleasure to browse in !On my next visit I plan on going to their Store in McCall . Plan on taking time to browse through here!

Stopped in looking for a bonsai plant for a gift. Found one which we had repotted. Turned out well. Walked around looking at the abundance of trees and plants. Very pretty setup which is expanding.
I recently visited their new location.. it is absolutely gorgeous. The staff acknowledged me right away and offered any help I could want but also made me feel free to just browse and enjoy the new nursery. Well it is way more than a nursery. A lot of gift items. Just a fantastic way to spend my Saturday. Love, love , love it. Keep it up Franz Witte!
Franz Witte installed our front and backyard for our new build. They have gone above and beyond expectations, and provide ample help learning about our new landscape. They have helped even when it wasn't they're domain. They are very knowledgeable, and great communicators!
