Thrills & Frills Gourd Workshop
This is a two-part class!
Apply alcohol inks/alcohol in whimsical layers to bring your gourd bowl to life. A sealer will be applied to finish the piece and set aside to dry for the afternoon session.
After lunch you will be given a choice of materials and colors to enhance your rim with a seagrass or bamboo weave and complete a woven frilly rim. You will be able to finish this project in class.

- CA Thick Superglue

Faux Beading Gourd Workshop
In this class students will design a beaded pattern using graph paper and colored pencils. Preparation for the technique will depend on size and shape of the pattern. Paint colors will be selected and applied and then the design will be finished with embossing.
All necessary supplies will be furnished by the instructor. Students may bring their own scissors, paint, and heat gun if they wish.

Circus Butterfly Gourd Workshop
Create a stunning butterfly with Sue Haberer!
Please bring:
- Favorite color of acrylic paint
- 1/4″ detail brush for painting
- Water bowl
- Woodwise
- Acrylic paint to make a design on the edges

- Black and white paint

Fibonacci Gourd Birdhouse Workshop
Create a “gourdgeous” birdhouse using top-notch JoSonja acrylic paints, iridescents, and brushes.
Art is not just in the tools but in seeing your abilities shine in the process. This class provides detailed instruction and is for all who want to create. It is also okay to paint “outside the lines.”

Bubbles Galore Gourd Workshop
Students in this workshop will be making a gourd with the bubble pattern shown.
Bring a 4×5 gourd open, cleaned, and spray paint the outside either white for a more vibrant look, or black for a richer color as shown in the picture. Do not use acrylic, ink dyes, or leather dye. Spray paint only!
If you need a gourd, stop by the Gourd Store at the festival and purchase a prepared gourd for this class for $10. Gourds will be cut, cleaned, and painted white. Be sure to mention that you are taking Marla’s class, as these gourds have been set aside for class participants.

You will learn how to make 3 types of tea extracts and fermentation i.e. worm casting tea extract, LAB (lactic acid bacteria) and plant fermentation.

This class will concentrate on a combination of French intensive techniques, square foot gardening, and companion planting. For example, how many carrots can you grow in a square foot, and what other plants should you plant with carrots to improve performance?
Kelly will also cover successive planting, fertilizers, and pest management. Leave with handouts for square foot gardening and companion plants.
