Soil Health Class

It all starts with healthy soil! Anita from Big O’s Worm Farm will show you the difference between dirt and bio complete soil.

You’ll learn ways to feed your soil and why bio complete soil is essential for you, to grow and produce a great harvest.

Class will also learn how to make worm casting tea extract. Kids attend free.

Cinco De Mayo Beginner Salsa Dancing Class!

This class will teach basic salsa steps individually and connected with a partner and introduce participants to social dancing to salsa music.

Rose Care 101 – David Austin Roses

Build a Worm Farm Bin

This class will be hands-on and teach you how to build a worm bin.

You will learn how to feed and care for your composting worms. This class includes the 18-gallon worm bin, bedding, and worms to get you started on your vermicompost journey. Kids are always free.

Feeding Your Soil w/ Tea Extracts & Plant Fermentation

You will learn how to make 3 types of tea extracts and fermentation i.e. worm casting tea extract, LAB (lactic acid bacteria) and plant fermentation.

These methods have been used for centuries to feed your plants and soil. Teas are a proven successful alternative to chemical fertilizers.

Take home worm castings tea bags to brew your own worm casting tea extract. Kids are always free.

Gardening 208: Planning Your Garden

Get the most out of your garden even if you have a small space!

This class will concentrate on a combination of French intensive techniques, square foot gardening, and companion planting. For example, how many carrots can you grow in a square foot, and what other plants should you plant with carrots to improve performance?

Kelly will also cover successive planting, fertilizers, and pest management. Leave with handouts for square foot gardening and companion plants.

Winter Seed Starting Workshop
Get a head start on your cold hardy plants with this fantastic seed starting method. The bags create a “greenhouse effect” to help your little plant babies germinate in any weather.
 
You may have tried the “milk jug” method to germinate your seeds, but this method is sleeker, easier, and so much fun! We will be using perennial pollinator mix, a lettuce mix, and spinach seeds all from local seed cooperative, Snake River Seed Co.
